I may have just gotten a dud, but a product shouldn't fail after being used only a handful of times. I initially liked this one better than the sunpak filterrs because it was thinner, but the construction seemed to be cheap. The glass for this polarizer worked great. The only problem was that the retaining ring that holds the spinning glass element to the screw mount for the lens popped after only a handful of uses, rendering it useless.
No complaints, really. This is good filter for the price. Recommended. I would purchase again. Works as it should. Turns fairly smoothly.
Did not encounter significant amount of glare even though this is not Hoya HMC coated.Only surprise: display picture for item on Amazon list the item as made in Japan, maybe due to the vendor (DBROTH), but the received product is actually made in Philippine.Overall the product does what it's made to do. The product is of decent quality, and rotating the filter while shooting at 90 degree to the sun light provides the best effect.
Not much else to say outside of the title "Works Great - Excellent Price".The rotation of the circular polarizer is a little stiff out of the box, but I suppose that is a good thing as it's only going to get looser with use.Get a nice polarized effect on both water or sky in pictures taken thus far.Definitely a good value for your 58mm attachments.
I couldn't take pictures without this. When I turn it I can really see the difference in the blue in the sky and it's also fun to point my camera at my laptop and watch the screen turn completely black as I turn the polarizer. I love this polarizer. I use it ALL the time.
